This was quite possibly the most disappointing dinner I've ever had. I had heard good things about JOEY and wanted to give it a try. To start the appetizer we ordered, it was sent to the wrong table, so there was an extended wait for it to arrive. We ordered the sake glazed fish, which was Chilean Sea Bass, and the steak & sushi with the add for filet mignon. First, the Chilean sea bass was undercooked and had a strong fishy taste to it. Fresh fish shouldn't taste fishy. The filet mignon I ordered medium, and it was well done with very little pink. Most of the pieces were gray. The service was below standard as well. When all I was drinking was water and my glass was empty, I shouldn't have to ask for it to be refilled. One last thing, and I know this may not matter to anyone else, but when you're paying this much, why are cloth napkins not used?

I was pleasantly surprised by the New York vibe the restaurant provides while you’re settled in Manhattan Beach… you can see the exposed kitchen from your seat, enjoy a complimentary drink while you wait, and there’s ambient lighting throughout. Unfortunately, the first impression doesn’t last when you’re met with servers’ attitudes and the food is underwhelming… with flavors and portions that don’t match the price. Their attempt on fine dining just doesn’t match up to other restaurants.

Good food, great service and amazing atmosphere. The hummus is to die for, the hamburger was good as well and the surprise of the day was the apple pie, made with puff pastry. Prices are what you would expect in Manhattan Beach, so all good.

Good food, and a vibe like a Houston’s. When you walk into the restaurant, they offer you a glass of complimentary sparkling wine. The building itself is very nice. I got the Herb Crush Salmon and the Bollywood Butter Chicken. The salon was flavorful and was accompanied by a good sauce. The butter chicken was okay. The service was also okay.

Always wanted to visit Joey, but never had a chance. And now this check mark on my wish list is there. This place is very nice. I loved the food, it's tasty with a great presentation. Servers are very nice.
